Italian textile producer, Aquafill, rescues and reuses tonnes of fishing nets from oceans that endanger wildlife and natural resources, as well as old carpets, fabric scraps and industrial plastic, which would otherwise stay in landfills for centuries. ECONYL® is developed by breaking down the waste to its building blocks, polymerising it into brand new, high-grade nylon. The result is a strong alternative material that is helping to clean our oceans and avoid landfill waste. For every 10,000 tonnes of ECONYL® raw material produced, 70,000 barrels of crude oil are saved and 57,100 tons of C02 emissions are reduced, ultimately helping to lower the impact of global warming by 80%.
Packaging
All orders are sent in a fully recyclable mailer manufactured using a plant based bio-polymer made from sugarcane. This is an eco-friendly alternative to standard polythene, and is the greenest material on the market. It's the process of photosynthesis as the plant grows that makes this product carbon neutral. The sugar cane actively captures CO2 from the atmosphere, while at the same time releasing oxygen - making this not just green, but proactively green. My thank you notes and swing tags are printed onto 100% recycled card. I sent larger orders in recycled boxes which can be recycled again.
